HB 1070 -- Policemen and Sheriff's Deputies Trust Fund Co-Sponsors: Relford, Kissell This bill sets the minimum yearly salary for full-time police officers and sheriff's deputies at $20,000, beginning July 1, 2001. The bill also establishes the Policemen and Sheriff's Deputies Trust Fund, provided for by general revenue appropriations, to assist those political subdivisions in compliance with the minimum salary requirements who do not meet the minimum salary threshold before January 1, 2001. The fund will terminate on January 1, 2005.
