McLuckie, Gambaro

This bill creates an incentive program to encourage teachers to
achieve national board certification. Teachers who have been
certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching
Standards may apply for a bonus by sending a copy of their
national certification to the Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education. The initial bonus for the first year after
such certification is $5,000; subsequent bonuses will be $2,500
for the life of the national certificate.
