HB 1894 -- Unused Property Market

This bill regulates unused property markets by:
(1) Prohibiting the sale of baby food, infant formula,
cosmetics or personal care products, or any nonprescription drug
or medical device, with a specific exemption for authorized
representatives;
(2) Requiring maintenance of receipts for the purchase of new
and unused property with specified information for 2 years;
(3) Prohibiting certain acts by unused property merchants, such
as knowingly falsifying required receipts and refusing to make
receipts available for inspection; and
(4) Exempting certain types of sales from the bill's provisions.
The first violation of the bill's provisions is a class B
misdemeanor; second violation is a class A misdemeanor; and
third and subsequent violations are class D felonies.
