HB 2082 -- Retention and Recruitment of Teachers

Sponsor:  Fraser

This bill requires the Department of Elementary and Secondary
Education to provide grants, subject to appropriation, to school
districts to implement programs that assist new teachers, such
as release time, additional pay for mentoring, and programs that
foster collegial interaction.  Districts receiving grants must
demonstrate improved retention of new teachers.
