AN ACT
To repeal section 451.022, RSMo Supp. 1999, relating to marriage, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.
Section A. Section 451.022, RSMo Supp. 1999, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 451.022, to read as follows:
[451.022. 1. It is the public policy of this state to recognize marriage only between a man and a woman.
2. Any purported marriage not between a man and a woman is invalid.
3. No recorder shall issue a marriage license, except to a man and a woman.]
