AN ACT
To amend chapter 304, RSMo, relating to traffic regulations by adding thereto one new section relating to speed limits in school zones.
Section A. Chapter 304, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 304.062, to read as follows:
304.062. Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 304.010, 304.120 and 304.130, and any other provision of law
to the contrary, a school board may recommend to the municipality in which such school board is located a
regulation governing the speed of vehicles on any road within an area designated as a school zone, and the
municipality in which such school board is located may adopt such recommended regulation by ordinance
without the consent of the state highways and transportation commission. Any such reduction of speed in an area
designated as a school zone shall be designed to promote public safety.
