REP. PHILIP G. SMITH

90th General Assembly

Rep. Philip G. Smith, a Democrat, represents parts of Pike and Lincoln counties (District 11) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Smith is an attorney and a small business owner.

First elected to the Missouri House in 1990, Rep. Smith serves as chairman of the Civil and Administrative Law committee.

Rep. Smith's professional organization memberships include: the Missouri Bar Association; Pike County Bar Association; Missouri Society of Hospital Attorneys; Missouri Municipal Attorneys Association; and Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.

Formerly, Rep. Smith served as a city attorney for several cities in Pike County, Missouri.

He is a former member of the Industrial Development Authority of the County of Pike and a former chairman of the Pike County Democratic Central Committee and the board of trustees of the Centenary United Methodist Church. He has previously served on the boards of the University of Missouri Parents Association, the United Way of Buffalo Township and on the 11th Judicial Circuit Bar Committee. Currently, Rep. Smith is a member of the board of directors of the Louisiana Industrial Development Corporation, the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital Home Health Agency and the Mercantile Bank of Louisiana, Mo.

Rep. Smith is also a member of the following organizations: Louisiana Rotary Club; Elks Lodge No. 791; Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons Perseverance Lodge No. 92; Missouri University Alumni Association; and the Truman State University Alumni Association.

A graduate of Clopton High School in Pike County, Rep. Smith received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State University) and a law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.

Rep. Smith resides in Louisiana with his wife, Andrea, and his son Lyndon.
