REP. CHARLES SHIELDS
90th General Assembly
Rep. Charles Shields, a Republican, represents part of Buchanan County (District 28) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. Shields serves as the House Minority Whip. He is the first Republican to be elected to the Missouri House from Buchanan County since 1946.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Shields is project coordinator for Heartland Health System.
Rep. Shields is a member of the following organizations: United Way Applications Committee, Pony Express Boy Scout Council, Futures Advisory Board, Northwest Agenda, Children's Health Care Clinic Board, Missouri Rural Health Association Board, Project Discovery Board, East Side Lion's Club (past president), Healthy Communities, Buchanan County Republican Club, Mid-Buchanan R-V Board of Education (past president), and committeeman for the Center Township of the Republican Central Committee.
After attending public schools in Independence and Kansas City, Rep. Shields earned a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Born July 25, 1959, in Kansas City, Rep. Shields currently resides in rural Buchanan County with his wife Brenda and their two sons, Brandt and Bryce.
