REP. MARY M. HAGAN-HARRELL
90th General Assembly
Rep. Mary M. Hagan-Harrell, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis County (District 75) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. Hagan-Harrell sponsored legislation relating to the direct deposit of employee salary checks. She also handled the public school retirement system legislation. This legislation would modify "25 and out" for teachers, raise the minimum benefits for retired teachers and increase monthly retirement benefits for retirees based on the number of years of service. She also handled the MOSERS retirement bill and the Highway Employees and Highway Patrol Retirement System bill, which improved disability benefits for those employees under the Highway System who have been disabled and cannot return to work.
Rep. Hagan-Harrell worked as a schoolteacher and librarian in the Riverview Gardens School District from 1960-1986.
A graduate of Chaffee High School, Rep. Hagan-Harrell holds a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and fine arts from Southeast Missouri State University and a master's degree in library science from George Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn., which has now merged with Vanderbilt University.
Born in Cape Girardeau, Rep. Hagan-Harrell currently resides in Ferguson with her husband Stan Harrell.
