REP. LANA LADD STOKAN

90th General Assembly

 Rep. Lana Ladd Stokan, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis County (District 76) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Elected to her third two-year term in 1998, Rep. Ladd Stokan is the chair of the House Public Health Committee.

Rep. Ladd Stokan is a former teacher at Ferguson/Florissant and Riverview Gardens School Districts.

She is a board member of the following groups: Visiting Nurse Association; A+ School Program, McCluer North High School; and the Alzheimer's Research Grant Program, University of Missouri-Columbia. She is also a member of the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce; North County Inc.; and St. Marks United Methodist Church.

Rep. Ladd Stokan is a recipient of the Alumnae Hall of Fame, St. Louis Community College; Distinguished Service Award, the Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging; Woman of Worth Award, the Older Women’s League; Special Recognition Award, North County Inc., the 1995 Outstanding Freshman Legislator of the Year Award, the Missouri Police Chiefs' Association; and the 1994 Volunteer of the Year from the Alzheimer's Association.

A 1976 graduate of McCluer North High School, Rep. Ladd Stokan holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in education from Southern Illinois University.

Born September 5, 1958, in El Dorado, Arkansas, Rep. Ladd Stokan currently resides in Florissant.

She is married to A. John Baker. They have three children, Garrett, Adair and Alyson.
