REP. TODD AKIN
90th General Assembly
Rep. Todd Akin, a Republican, represents part of St. Louis County (District 86) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. Akin served as an officer in the Army Corps of Engineers and received an honorable discharge. He had marketed large computer systems for IBM and later served in corporate management at Laclede Steel Company. He also taught international marketing at the undergraduate level and has lectured on early American History and U.S. Government.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Akin was appointed to the U.S. Constitutional Bicentennial Commission in 1987. He is also an assistant Boy Scout troop leader. He serves on the executive board of Mission Gate, an organization to help people in prison.
A graduate of John Burroughs High School in St. Louis, Rep. Akin earned a bachelor of science degree in Engineering from Worchester Polytechnic Institute.
Born July 5, 1947, in New York City, Rep. Akin currently resides in St. Louis with his wife Lulli. They have six children.
