REP. EMMY L. MCCLELLAND
90th General Assembly
Rep. Emmy L. McClelland, a Republican, represents part of St. Louis County (District 91) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. McClelland is a former director of the Missouri Secretary of State's St. Louis Field Office-Corporation Division.
Formerly the Republican Committeewoman for Gravois Township from 1982-1991, Rep. McClelland also served on the Missouri Republican State Committee from 1988-1992. Rep. McClelland serves on the board of directors of the St. Louis Family Support Network, the Court Appointed Special Advocates, and Nurses for Newborns. She also is on the President's Advisory Cabinet for the Girl Scout Council of Greater St. Louis, the Children's Services Commission, the Missouri Community Service Commission, and the Children's Trust Fund.
In addition, Rep. McClelland is an elder at the Webster Groves Presbyterian Church. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Webster Groves.
Rep. McClelland has received the following honors: Missouri recipient of the Volunteer Recognition Award from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities in 1987; the Missouri Bar Legislative Award in 1994; the Special Leadership Award for Government from the YWCA of Greater St. Louis in 1994; the 1996 Distinguished Legislator Award from the Missouri Community College Associations; the 1996 Spirit of Enterprise Award from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce; and the 1998 Child Advocate of the Year Award from the Missouri Child Care Association.
A 1958 graduate of Greenwood High School in Springfield, Rep. McClelland received a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a lifetime teaching certificate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1962.
Born February 26, 1940, in Springfield, Rep. McClelland resides in Webster Groves with her husband Alan. They have two children, Mike and Karen.
