REP. JOAN BARRY
90th General Assembly
Rep. Joan Barry, a Democrat, represents part of South St. Louis County (District 100) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. Barry was elected to the House of Representatives in 1996 in a special election, and again in 1998.
In addition to her legislative duties, Rep. Barry works as a registered nurse at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis. She works in the area of obstetrics and gynecology. Rep. Barry is a member of the Missouri Nurses Association, a board member of Nurses for Newborns, and regional director for National Order of Women Legislators.
A member of the Women Legislators of Missouri, Rep. Barry also serves as a state director of Women in Government. She is a member of the South County Chamber of Commerce, the Oakville Lions Club, the DePaul Alumna Association, the Missouri Historical Society, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Rep. Barry is a graduate of Notre Dame High School in St. Louis and DePaul Hospital School of Nursing.
Born May 31, 1941, in St. Louis, Rep. Barry resides in Oakville with her husband, Philip. They have four children and two grandchildren.
