REP. KATE HOLLINGSWORTH
90th General Assembly
Rep. Kate Hollingsworth, a Democrat, represents part of Jefferson County (District 101) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. Hollingsworth was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 1996. Prior to joining the legislature, she was a paralegal a major department store company based in St. Louis.
Rep. Hollingsworth isn't the first in her family to serve in public office. Her grandfather, Herbert K. Moss, served as circuit judge in Jefferson County. Her mother, Nancy Moss Hollingsworth, served on the Jefferson College Board of Trustees for 24 years; and her father, Brunson Hollingsworth, is a former prosecutor.
Rep. Hollingsworth has been a strong advocate on issues involving children and families and was named a 1998 Hero for Kids by Citizens for Missouri's Children. She also serves on the National Conference of State Legislatures Assembly on State Issues' Children, Families and Health Committee. She was named the 1996 Committeewoman of the Year by the Jefferson County Democratic Central Committee and the 1998 Woman of the Year by the Women's Democratic Club of Jefferson County.
She is a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Sunday school teacher and preschool board member; COMTREA (community mental health board) board member; Jefferson County Community Partnership, board member; Women Legislators of Missouri, treasurer; National Order of Women Legislators; and the Jefferson County Democratic Central Committee.
A 1978 graduate of St. Pius X High School, Rep. Hollingsworth graduated cum laude from Jefferson College (1988) and Southeast Missouri State University (BS, 1990).
Born April 9, 1960, in Columbia, Rep. Hollingsworth resides in Imperial.
