REP. MARK C. ABEL

90th General Assembly

Rep. Mark C. Abel, a Democrat, represents part of Jefferson County (District 103) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Rep. Abel was elected in 1998. He previously served in the House of Representatives from 1985-1991. Some of his significant legislative accomplishments include: the Access to Higher Education Act, economic development and college license plates.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Abel is an insurance broker and a member of the Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club and BPOE 1721. He was a recipient of the Outstanding Legislator Award from the Missouri Community Colleges.

A 1968 graduate of Festus High School, Rep. Abel obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1989.

Born February 8, 1950, Rep. Abel lives in Festus with his wife Cheryl.
