REP. BRIAN MAY

90th General Assembly

Rep. Brian May, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis City (District 108) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

First elected to the House by special election in 1993 and re-elected in 1994, 1996 and 1998, Rep. May is chairman of the House Judiciary.

A former teacher, Rep. May is an attorney and a member of St. Mary and Joseph Church.

Rep. May graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in education from Harris Stowe State College in 1986 and received a juris doctorate from St. Louis University School of Law in 1989.

Rep. May has been honored with numerous awards including: Homebuilder's Award, 1999; A+ Legislator Award from MNEA, 1999; Award of Recognition from the Missouri Police Chiefs Association, 1998; First Annual Legislative Award from the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges, 1998; Contributions to the Advancement of the Administration of Justice in Missouri at the Judicial Conference of Missouri, 1995, 1996, 1998 and 1999; MATA Champion of Justice Award, 1997; Judges of Missouri Award, 1997; Continued Support of Missouri State Council of Firefighters, 1997; Missouri Bar Appreciation of Outstanding Efforts to Improve the Administration of Justice, 1995, 1997 and 1999; Legislator of the Year Award from the Missouri Police Chiefs Association, 1995; Outstanding Freshman Legislator in Stiffer Punishment for Juveniles Convicted of Crime from the Missouri House of Representatives, 1995; Distinguished Alumni Award for outstanding accomplishments and exemplary contributions to community, state and nation from Harris Stowe State College, 1994.

Born November 22, 1962, in St. Louis, Rep. May currently resides there with his wife, Tracy Elizabeth, and their children Cullan Brian, Allison Elizabeth and Brendan Michael.
