REP. NORMA CHAMPION
90th General Assembly
Rep. Norma Champion, a Republican, represents part of Greene County (District 134) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. Champion is a university professor of broadcasting and communication theory. In addition to her legislative duties, she has been a member of the following organizations: Women in Government; DWI Task Force; National and State Broadcast Education Association; Lifetime member of the Missouri PTA; Citizen's Board, Medical Center for Federal Prisoners. She also served on the Springfield City Council (1987-1992) and was a member of the Missouri Access to Higher Education Trust Fund (1990-1992). She served as a writer, producer and host of Children's Hour and a commercial announcer for KYTV from 1957-1986. She is listed in Who's Who Among American Women, Who's Who of International Business and Professional Women, and Who's Who in American Politics.
Rep. Champion received her master of arts in communication from Southwest Missouri State University and her Ph.D. in educational communications technology from the University of Oklahoma. She also pursued post-graduate work at the University of London (England).
Rep. Champion currently resides in Springfield. She has two children, Jeffrey and Brooke. She was the wife of the late Rev. Richard Champion.
