Rep. Phillip Britt, a Democrat, represents parts of Dunklin, New Madrid, Butler and Stoddard counties (District 163) in the Missouri House.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Britt practices law as an associate at Dalton, Treasure and Mowrer, Attorneys at Law in Kennett. From 1995 to1998 he served as assistant prosecuting attorney for Dunklin County, and from 1997 to 1998 as assistant prosecuting attorney for Pemiscot County. During the years of 1997 and 1998 he served as municipal judge for the cities of Senath and Clarkton.

He is a member of the Kennett Chamber of Commerce and The Missouri Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and is a member of the board of directors for the Bootheel Youth Museum. Rep. Britt and his family attend the First Christian Church of Kennett, Mo.

A 1988 graduate of Clarkton High School, Rep. Britt received a bachelor of science degree in political science from Southeast Missouri State University in 1992 and a law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School in 1995.

Born June 25, 1970, in Kennett, Rep. Britt currently resides in Kennett with his wife, Bethany. They have two children, Jackson and Dawson.
