HB 402 -- PROBATION DOCUMENTS SPONSOR: Boucher COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Correctional and State Institutions by a vote of 13 to 0. This bill allows sex offenders' treatment providers and therapists to obtain copies of presentence investigation reports and sex offender assessment records from the Board of Probation and Parole. Under current law, these documents are privileged. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that it is very difficult for treatment providers to get all the information necessary to provide proper treatment for these offenders. The bill would make this information readily available to the treatment providers. Testifying for the bill were Representative Boucher; and Tim McMullin. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Bob Dominique, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
