HB 742 -- CONVEYANCE IN PLATTE COUNTY

CO-SPONSORS:  Harding, Shoemyer, Kelly (27)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Correctional and State Institutions by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill authorizes the Governor to convey certain property in
Platte County known as the Kansas City International
Multi-Purpose Export Facility to the Kansas City International
Airport.

FISCAL NOTE:  Income to General Revenue Fund of $225,000 in FY
2002, $0 in FY 2003, and $0 in FY 2004.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this property is vacant and in
decay.  Kansas City International Airport is in the process of
expanding and is willing to purchase the facility.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Harding; and City of
Kansas City.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
