HB 808 -- CONVEYANCE IN COLE COUNTY

CO-SPONSORS:  Gratz, Vogel

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Correctional and State Institutions by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill authorizes the Governor to convey 2 pieces of property
in Cole County to Jefferson City for waste water purposes.

FISCAL NOTE:  Income to General Revenue Fund of $470,000 in FY
2002, $0 in FY 2003, $0 in FY 2004.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that Jefferson City is in the
process of developing a new sewer treatment facility.  The bill
would allow the city to take over some ground adjacent to the
National Guard Center.  For the conveyance, the city will handle
all the waste water systems for the National Guard and
correctional facilities located in the vicinity.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Gratz; and City of
Jefferson.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
