Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 825 -- SALES TAX:  EXEMPTION FOR GOLD BULLION AND COINS

SPONSOR:  Kennedy

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Ways and Means by a vote of 10 to 0.

This bill corrects statutory references related to the state and
local sales and use tax exemption on purchases of bullion and
investment coins.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill clarifies certain
local sales taxes that are included in the exemption for gold
bullion and coins that was passed last session.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Kennedy; and
Department of Revenue.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
