HB 506 -- Parents in Education Grants

This bill establishes a competitive grant program to support
family and community involvement programs facilitating parental
involvement and the creation of a home environment conducive to
learning.  Districts or individual schools will develop program
proposals for submission to the Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education, which will promulgate criteria for the
grants.  No more than 2 grants may be awarded per district.
