HB 569 -- Funds for Certain Convention and Sports Complexes

This bill requires that if a city or county fails to begin
construction by the end of the fiscal year on a project for
which state funds were appropriated, all the moneys appropriated
to the Convention and Sports Complex Fund of the city or county
will lapse to the credit of the General Revenue Fund.

The state has the right to recover all moneys and interest
earned on moneys deposited by the state into the Convention and
Sports Complex Fund of St. Charles or St. Charles County for the
purpose of constructing a convention complex, if construction of
the complex does not begin by July 1, 2001, or the effective
date of the bill, whichever occurs later.
