HB 871 -- Medical Procedures Sponsor: Fraser This bill allows emergency medical technicians, any eligible person, firm, organization, or other entity to purchase, acquire, possess, and use epinephrine auto-injector devices based on a collaborative practice arrangement with a health care provider. Any emergency medical technician, eligible person, firm, organization, or entity is required to file a copy of the collaborative practice agreement with the Department of Health prior to the use of the epinephrine auto-injector device. Provisions pertaining to the purchase, possession, use, acquisition, and disposal of epinephrine auto-injector devices are contained in the bill. The bill requires that every use of an epinephrine auto-injector device be immediately reported to the emergency health care provider. The use of an epinephrine auto-injector device is considered first aid or emergency treatment for the purpose of any law relating to liability. Any person, firm, or entity who violates provisions of the bill will be guilty of a class B misdemeanor.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
