HB 621 -- MISSOURI STATE PENITENTIARY REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (Gratz) This bill establishes the Missouri State Penitentiary Redevelopment Commission. The commission will acquire title to the property known as the Missouri State Penitentiary and adopt a master plan for historical redevelopment of the property. The bill contains provisions regarding the makeup of the commission, the leasing and selling of the property, contracting with political subdivisions, receiving of proceeds from lawful activities, and the disbursement of and investing of funds. The bill further creates within the state treasury the Missouri State Penitentiary Redevelopment Commission Fund. Money in the fund will be used solely for the purposes established by the commission. Upon the dissolving of the commission, all remaining funds in the Missouri State Penitentiary Redevelopment Commission Fund will be transferred to general revenue. FISCAL NOTE: Estimated Net Cost to General Revenue Fund of $8,333 in FY 2002, $10,300 in FY 2003, and $10,609 in FY 2004.
