AN ACT

To amend chapter 327, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to building codes for design professionals.



Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 327, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 327.485, to read as follows:

327.485. 1. In any area of the state not subject to any state or local building code, the building code for design professionals in such areas shall be the most recent code edition of the building code administrators international (BOCA), the international conference of building officials (ICBO), the southern building code congress international (SBCCI), the international code council (ICC) and the national electric code; except that all university, college and state buildings shall be subject to the state building codes.

2. The board for architects, professional engineers and land surveyors shall be responsible for the enforcement of the codes listed in subsection 1 of this section.
