REP. TIM VAN ZANDT
91st General Assembly
Rep. Tim Van Zandt, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 38) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep. Van Zandt was elected to his fourth two-year term in 2000. In addition to his legislative duties, he is an accountant.
Rep. Van Zandt is a member of the following organizations: Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity; Pi Omega Pi business education honor society; Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society and Phi Kappa Phi honor society. He is active in the Rockhill Neighborhood Association; Trinity United Methodist Church; The Society of Fellows; Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art; Friends of the Zoo and the Committee for County Progress.
He was on the Standing Rules Committee of the 1992 and 2000 Democratic National Conventions and served on the Platform Committee of the 1996 Democratic National Convention. Rep. Van Zandt was a Flemming Fellow in 1996 and chosen to attend the Aspen Leadership Institute in 1997. He is also a member of the Thomas Hart Benton Memorial Homestead Commission
A 1981 graduate of Lexington High School, Rep. Van Zandt complete a B.S.E. in accounting and political science from Central Missouri State University in 1985 and received his M.P.A. in health care administration from The Bloch School in 1999.
Born September 17, 1963, in Lexington, Rep. Van Zandt currently resides in Kansas City.
