Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 1519 -- PATRIOTS DAY

CO-SPONSORS:  Boucher, Kreider, Hosmer

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Public Safety, Law Enforcement and Veteran Affairs by a vote of
19 to 0.

This bill designates April 19 as "Patriots Day."  This will be a
day on which to commemorate the beginning of the American
Revolution.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will help Missouri
citizens to remember and take pride in the heritage and history
of this country.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Boucher; Missouri
Society of Sons of the American Revolution; and Missouri Family
Network.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
