Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HB 1812 -- HEALTH SERVICES DOCUMENT FUND

SPONSOR: Riback Wilson (25)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Children, Families and Health by a vote of 14 to 0.

This bill revises a provision pertaining to the use of moneys in
the Department of Health and Senior Services Document Fund.

The bill requires that the fund pay for personnel costs
associated with the collection, processing, storing, and
accessing of documents and data. The costs are associated with
reports, studies, and publications produced or reproduced by the
department.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will provide more
flexibility for the Department of Health and Senior Services to
use moneys in the fund. Current law prohibits the use of moneys
in the fund to pay personnel costs and costs associated with data
collection, storage, and retrieval.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Riback Wilson (25);
and Department of Health and Senior Services.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
