HCS SB 1012 -- ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECTS
SPONSOR: Caskey (Lawson)
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Environment and Energy by a vote of 14 to 0.
This substitute increases the maximum payment period for state
contracts with guaranteed energy cost savings from 10 to 15
years.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that extending the payment period for
these contracts will authorize more projects and increase energy
efficiency and cost savings for state agencies.
Testifying for the bill were Senator Caskey; and Exelon Services
Corporation.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
