Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SB 1041, HCA 1, 2 & 3 -- PROPERTY CONVEYANCES

SPONSOR: Russell (Gratz)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Correctional and State Institutions by a vote of 13 to 0.

This bill authorizes the conveyance of certain state property
held by the Department of Natural Resources located in Camden
County to Lawrence and Helen Taylor in consideration for like
property.

HCA 1 -- Conveys certain property held by the Department of
Corrections located in Cole County, know as Sugarloaf Rock, to
the Department of Natural Resources.

HCA 2 -- Conveys certain property located at Jefferson City
Correctional Center to the General Services Administration for
the purpose of building a federal courthouse.

HCA 3 -- Conveys certain state property located in the City of
Rolla, Phelps County, to the Gingerbread House, Inc.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that there was a mix up with the
property boundaries. Some improvements were made on state ground
by the Taylors, and the bill just exchanges property owned by the
Taylors for the property they made improvements on.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Russell; and Department of
Natural Resources.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
