SB 1124 -- CONVEYANCE IN ST. LOUIS CITY

SPONSOR:  Dougherty (Gambaro)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Municipal Corporations by a vote of 11 to 0.

This bill authorizes the public sale of state property located
within the City of St. Louis known as the Hubert Wheeler State
School.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the Office of Administration no
longer needs to maintain control of the building and the adjacent
property at the Hubert Wheeler State School site.  Significant
capital outlays would be needed to convert the building into
office space.  Remediation of environmental concerns on the
property has been completed.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Dougherty; and City of St.
Louis.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
