SB 1143 -- STATE AUDITOR

SPONSOR:  Jacob (Monaco)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Miscellaneous Bills and Resolutions by a vote of 11 to 0.

This bill repeals the requirement that the State Auditor register
general obligation bearer bonds issued by a political subdivision
in a book in the same manner as state bonds are registered.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the requirement to keep the big
blue book is unnecessary and that no one ever requests to see it.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Jacob; and Office of the
State Auditor.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
