SCS SB 1207 -- CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION
SPONSOR: Bentley (Holand)
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Children, Families and Health by a vote of 17 to 0.
This substitute requires the State Board of Registration for the
Healing Arts to accept continuing medical education courses on
autism toward the licensure renewal requirement by physicians.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the purpose of the substitute is
to increase the awareness, diagnosis, and treatment of autism in
children by licensed physicians in Missouri.
Testifying for the bill was Senator Bentley.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
