SB 1217 -- PROPERTY TAX: PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX LIST
SPONSOR: Coleman (Boykins)
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Municipal Corporations by a vote of 11 to 0.
This bill allows the due date for providing the county assessor
with a listing of personal property owned by a taxpayer to be
considered timely filed on the next business day if April 1 falls
on a Saturday or Sunday.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill extends the filing date
for returning a listing of tangible personal property owned to a
local assessor from April 1 to the next business day if the date
occurs on a weekend.
Testifying for the bill was Senator Coleman.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
