HB 1424 -- Tuition Increases at Public Institutions of Higher
Education

Co-Sponsors:  Smith, Kreider

This bill limits tuition increases, including fees and
surcharges, for public institutions of higher education to the
percentage reflected for the previous year in the Consumer Price
Index.  The bill also prohibits any tuition increases after the
school year begins.  Violations are subject to a 25% reduction in
the next fiscal year's appropriation for the institution.
