HB 1733 - Private Fire Investigators Sponsor: Selby This bill contains provisions for the licensing of private fire investigators. The bill: (1) Creates the Board of Licensed Private Fire Investigator Examiners within the Division of Fire Safety in the Department of Public Safety; (2) Requires all persons wishing to act as private fire investigators to be licensed by the board; (3) Contains provisions regarding appointments, powers, and duties of the board; (4) Establishes exemptions from licensure for certain professions; (5) Requires all fees to be collected by the Division of Fire Safety and deposited in the General Revenue Fund; (6) Requires the board to develop licenses which will be carried and displayed by licensees; (7) Contains provisions pertaining to advertising, fraud, making false statements, manufacturing false evidence, and claiming affiliations with state or federal government agencies; (8) Gives the board the power to refuse to issue or renew, suspend, or revoke licenses; conduct investigations; take disciplinary actions; and cause complaints to be filed with the Administrative Hearing Commission; and (9) Allows the board to adopt rules necessary to carry out the provisions of the bill.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
