AN ACT
To amend chapter 565, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to human embryos, with a penalty provision.
Section A. Chapter 565, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 565.310, to read as follows:
565.310. 1. Any person or entity that selects a human embryo for implantation through in vitro fertilization based on the gender of such embryo is guilty of a class A misdemeanor. Any second or subsequent violation of this section is a class D felony.
2. Nothing in this section shall be construed as prohibiting the performance of preimplantation genetic diagnosis on
a human embryo to detect the presence of chromosomal abnormalities or genetic disorders.
