91st General Assembly
Rep. Nancy Copenhaver, a Democrat, represents Randolph County and parts of Howard, Chariton and Boone counties (District 22) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Prior to being elected to the House in 2000, Rep. Copenhaver was retired from a 28-year teaching career. She taught business law, business principles, typing/keyboarding, word-processing, recordkeeping and served as the practical arts department chair at Moberly High School.
Recognized by Who's Who in Business Education in Missouri, Rep. Copenhaver was active in local, state and national teachers' associations. She is on the board of directors of Caring Communities, Education Committee of Moberly Chamber of Commerce and belongs to several Democratic clubs, and was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1996.
Rep. Copenhaver is a member of Coates Street Presbyterian Church; a former member and board secretary at Trinity Methodist Church; served as an elected member of the Moberly City Council for 4 1/2 years; a member of the Moberly Planning and Zoning Commission for 15 years; and a charter member of the Moberly-Randolph County League of Women Voters.
A 1967 graduate of Knox County High School in Edina, Rep. Copenhaver was the valedictorian of her class. She attended Iowa Wesleyan College and received a B.S.E. in business education in1972, a master's in business education in 1974 and a master's in counseling and guidance in 1980 all from Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State University).
Born January 17, 1949 in San Diego, California, Rep. Copenhaver is a descendant of early settlers of Knox County, Missouri. She currently resides in Moberly with her husband, Paul, band director with Moberly Public Schools.
