91st General Assembly
Rep. Timothy Harlan, a Democrat, represents part of Boone County (District 23) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Harlan is a lawyer. He is a member of the Presbyterian Church. A 1967 graduate of Boonville High School, Rep. Harlan holds a degree in history from Westminster College and a law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Rep. Harlan has sponsored numerous pieces of legislation regarding health care, including nationally recognized HMO regulation and Missouri's first nursing home reform legislation in 20 years, and a strong prompt pay law to regulate health insurance carriers.
Rep. Harlan has been recognized as an outstanding legislator by the following groups: Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians; League of Women Voters; Missouri State Medical Society; Missouri Pharmacy Association; Missouri Psychological Association; Missouri Coalition of Alliances for the Mentally Ill; National Alliance for the Mentally Ill; St. Louis 2004; Judicial Conference of Missouri; The Missouri Bar; Missouri Optometric Association; Missouri Nurses Association; Missouri Perfusion Society; Missouri Assisted Living Association; and Missouri Association of Homes for the Aging.
Born March 15, 1949, in Boonville, Rep. Harlan currently resides in Columbia with his wife, Linda, and their sons, Reed and Brook.
