Rep.
Cathy Jolly, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 45) in the
Missouri House of Representatives.
Rep.
Jolly was elected to the House in 2000.
In addition to her legislative duties she is an attorney. She has served as a Jackson County assistant
prosecuting attorney since 1997. During
her tenure she served as coordinator of the Drug Abatement Response Team
(D.A.R.T.), working closely with law enforcement officials in identifying and
closing down drug houses. In this role,
she initiated programs to expose child and elder neglect and abuse, which are
often associated with drug houses. As D.A.R.T. coordinator Rep. Jolly also
emphasized prevention by serving as a community liaison to educate and provide
outreach to the community about drug-related issues. Her prior assignment as an
assistant prosecuting attorney with Jackson County included prosecuting for the
Division of Family Support, where payment of child support is a top priority. She was also an assistant in the Missouri
Senate in 1995, working in constituent services.

Jolly is a member of the following organizations: South Kansas City Citizens
Crusade Against Crime; the Center Planning and Development Council; Southern
Communities Coalition; Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus; South
Kansas City and Grandview Chambers of Commerce; Committee for County Progress,
and the Citizens Association.
Among
Rep. Jolly's honors and awards are: the Order of the Bench and Robe, Order of
the Barristers, and the Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus Torch
award.
A
1991 graduate of Parkway West High School, Rep. Jolly received a bachelor of
science degree in political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in
1995 and graduated with distinction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City
with a juris doctorate degree in 1998.
Born
September 8, 1972 in St. Louis, Rep. Jolly and her husband Scott currently live
in south Kansas City.
