REP. TOBY W. PAONE

91st General Assembly

 

Rep. Toby W. Paone, a Democrat represents part of St. Louis City (District 66) in the Missouri House of Representatives.

 

Rep. Paone was elected to the House in March of 2002, to fill an un-expired term.  In addition to his legislative duties, he is a Uniserv director for the Missouri National Education Association.  He has also worked as a special assistant to the mayor of St. Louis from 1997-98, as a field representative and union representative in Missouri from 1993-97 and was an assistant professor in St. Charles, Mo., from 1990-93.

 

Rep. Paone attends St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and is a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Louis Chapter #453 (3rd Degree); 23rd Ward Regular Democratic Association; Tilles Park Neighborhood Association; and the Southside YMCA.  He is also a volunteer athletic coach for youth at the YMCA and the Magdalen Athletic Association.

 

A recipient of the Paul H. Sisco Award (Best Student) from the Department of Geography at Memphis State University in Memphis, Tenn., Rep. Paone served as president of the Young Democrats of Missouri from 1990-92 and was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1992.

 

Rep. Paone is a 1980 graduate of Ridgeway High School, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in geography and urban affairs from Memphis State University in 1984.  He received a master’s degree in urban affairs from St. Louis University in 1987.

 

Born November 15, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, Rep. Paone resides in St. Louis with his wife, Julie D. Kelemen, and their son, Kelemen (Kelly) Paone.
