Rep.
Lana Ladd Baker, a Democrat, represents part of St. Louis County (District 76)
in the Missouri House of Representatives.
Elected
to her fourth two-year term in 2000, Rep. Ladd Baker is a former teacher at
Ferguson/Florissant and Riverview Gardens School
Districts.
She
is a board member of the following groups: Visiting Nurse Association; A+ School
Program, McCluer North High School; the Alzheimer's Research Grant Program,
University of Missouri-Columbia; and the National Home and Community Based
Services Resource Network. She is also a member of the Florissant Valley Chamber
of Commerce; North County Inc.; and St. Marks United Methodist
Church.

Ladd Baker is a recipient of the 2002 Leadership of the Year award from the
Alzheimer's Association; Committed Statesperson award, 2001, National Multiple
Sclerosis Society; 2001 Public Servant award from the Missouri Alliance for Home
Care; Legislative award from the Missouri State Medical Association, 2001;
Leadership award, Missouri Statewide Independent Living and Assistive Technology
Councils, 2001; Outstanding Legislator for 2001 award, Adult Day Care
Association; Progressive Legislator of the Year, 2001, Missouri Progressive Vote
Coalition; Distinguished Service Award, 1998, Missouri Association of Homes for
the Aging; Woman of Worth award, the Older Women’s League; Special Recognition
award, North County Inc.; the 1995 Outstanding Freshman Legislator of the Year
award, the Missouri Police Chiefs' Association; and the 1994 Volunteer of the
Year from the Alzheimer's Association.
A
1976 graduate of McCluer North High School, Rep. Ladd Baker holds a bachelor's
degree in history and a master's degree in education from Southern Illinois
University.
Born
September 5, 1958, in El Dorado, Arkansas, Rep. Ladd Baker currently resides in
Florissant. She is married to A. John Baker. They have four children, Garrett,
Adair, Alyson and Andrea.
