Rep.
Jim Murphy, a Republican, represents part of St. Louis County (District 95) in
the Missouri House of Representatives.
In
addition to his legislative responsibilities, Rep. Murphy is a member of the
following organizations: the Roman Catholic Church; former school board member,
Our Lady of Providence; Crestwood/Sunset Hills, and Fenton Chambers of
Commerce; Gravois, Tesson Ferry and Bonhomme Republican Clubs; past national
president, American Drive-In Operators Association; past president, Missouri
Restaurant Association, St. Louis chapter; alderman, City of Crestwood,
1981-1982; publisher, "Capitol Report"; and author, How to Appeal
Your Property Tax Assessment.
Rep.
Murphy has also received the Meritorious Public Service Award from the St.
Louis Globe-Democrat, 1984, and was named the Crestwood/Sunset Hills
News Citizen of the Year in 1988.
Rep.
Murphy graduated with a bachelor of arts in philosophy from St. Louis
University and also attended Washington University.
Born
February 4, 1925, Rep. Murphy resides in Crestwood with his wife Carol. They have two children: Karen Ann and James William.
