This bill lowers the fine for failure to wear protective headgear when operating a motorcycle from $25 to $10. FISCAL NOTE: Cost to General Revenue of Minimal in FY 2004, FY 2005, and FY 2006. Estimated Net Effect on State School Money Fund of $0 in FY 2004, FY 2005, and FY 2006. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill will make fines for failure to wear helmets consistent with the fines established for failure to wear seat belts.
