HB 187 -- SPECIAL MOTORCYCLE LICENSE PLATE CO-SPONSORS: Cooper (120), Davis (122) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Transportation and Motor Vehicle by a vote of 19 to 0. This bill allows any military veteran with proper documentation to obtain a motorcycle license plate designated "U. S. VET." Currently, this plate is only available to a foreign war veteran. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that all veterans, not just veterans who served during a period of war, should be allowed to have this plate. Testifying for the bill were Representative Cooper (122); and Freedom of Road Riders. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
