HB 265, HCA 1 -- SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS SPONSOR: Cooper (120) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 19 to 0. This bill allows any second, third, or fourth classification county by ordinance to set countywide speed limits on roads within the county. HCA 1 -- Makes technical changes. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say the bill will give second, third, and fourth classification counties the authority to establish speed limits more appropriate for the county.
