HB 286 -- FEDERAL HOSPITAL REIMBURSEMENT ALLOWANCE PROGRAM

CO-SPONSORS:  Bearden, Campbell, Munzlinger

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Budget by a vote of 25 to 0.

This bill extends the expiration date for the federal
reimbursement allowance for hospitals from September 30, 2004, to
September 30, 2006.

FISCAL NOTE:  Estimated Net Effect on Federal Reimbursement
Allowance Fund of $0 in FY 2004, FY 2005, and FY 2006.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill allows continuation of
federal reimbursement for hospitals that was first instituted in
1992.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Bearden; and Missouri
Hospital Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
