HB 358 -- BARBER LICENSES SPONSOR: Boykins COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 16 to 0. This bill allows barbers whose licenses have lapsed for over two years but less than five years to have their licenses reinstated by making application to the State Board of Barber Examiners, successfully passing the practicum portion of the state licensing exam, and paying the appropriate fees. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill just allows those licensees who have decided to get out of the business for financial reasons to come back without going through the entire licensing process. Testifying for the bill were Representative Boykins; State Board of Barber Examiners; Twdaryll Blackwell; Sidney Harvey; and Division of Professional Registration. OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee. Bob Dominique, Legislative AnalystCopyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
